Inter-House Dance Competition Marks the RiverDale Founder’s Day
15 June 2012
Founder’s Day is celebrated at RiverDale on the 15th of June every year marking the inauguration of the school on this day nine years ago in 2003. This year, Founder’s Day was celebrated by organizing an inter-house dance competition. The students presented scintillating dance performances which were all beautifully choreographed. The performances were based on different themes: the theme of Fern House students dance group was ‘Space and Illusion’ while that of Maple House was ‘Heal the World’. The Oak House dance group based its dance performance on the theme ‘Metamorphosis of Love’ while Willow House had ‘Bollywood, Past and Present’ as its theme.
Earlier, the programme began with rocking performances by the school’s rock band. The School Founder, Mr. Farhang Azar later cut a cake commemorating the ninth ‘birthday’ of RiverDale.
The dance performances by all four groups were a treat to watch. It was a closely fought competition in which Oak House secured first position, followed by Fern House, Maple House and Willow House.
The competition was judged by the following three judges: Ms Purva Kotkar who is closely associated with the Mumbai film industry; Mr. Mahesh, member of the Shiamak Davar dance group, and Mrs. Debbie Yogachandra, senior consultant at RiverDale.
