Board of Prefects Convene Session of the Students Open House
17 June 2012
The Board of Prefects of RiverDale School convened the first session of the Students Open House on Tuesday, 12th June 2012. Students of grades 8 to 12 attended the Open house which was conducted by the Board of Prefects. The agenda for the Open House was earlier prepared by the school Head Girl and Head Boy in consultation with the Principal.
The Open House was introduced at RiverDale two years back with the aim of training students in Parliamentary practices of deliberation, consultation and collective decision making. It is also intended to serve the purpose of obtaining feedback from the students on matters that will make RiverDale a more comfortable and happier place for them. Students of grades 9 and above attend sessions of the Open house as voting members while grade 8 students attend as observers.
The Board of Prefects recently met on Sunday, 17th June and deliberated on the suggestions presented by the students in the Open House. They have forwarded their recommendations based on these general deliberations to the Principal for consideration and implementation by the school management.
The Board of Prefects of the school is to be congratulated for taking the initiative of convening the Open House and conducting it in a very productive and efficient manner.
