Meritorious and more capable students carefully chosen from Grades 10 and 12 are appointed to the Board of Prefects each year. Serving as an intermediary between the staff and students, the members of the Board of Prefects fulfil a number of varied tasks which involve supervision of students, assisting the staff in the discharge of certain duties, and in general, motivating and guiding the student body to imbibe the values and principles upheld at RiverDale and reflect them in their conduct and application at school. These functions afford the Prefects and other members of the Board with the opportunity of enhancing their leadership and administrative qualities and skills.
